Aimed at music departments and dedicated guzheng programmes in China’s national key universities, Zhonghong offers the National Key University Guzheng Department Set. The set has to meet two standards at once: it must be usable for teaching — consistent in pitch, and durable enough for daily classroom work — and it must reach performance standard, with the volume, projection and tonal range a concert hall demands.
Beyond the instruments themselves, Zhonghong also works with departments on joint curriculum development and on training students, taking the relationship past simple supply and into course building and professional development.
Who it is for
- Guzheng programmes and guzheng specialisms within national key university music departments
- Departments that carry both classroom teaching and stage performance
- Institutions interested in co-building teaching and research, or internship and training bases
What the package includes
1. A dual specification: teaching instruments and performance instruments
Teaching instruments are chosen for pitch stability and durability, to cope with frequent, long classroom use. Performance instruments are chosen for volume and tonal range, to suit the acoustics of a concert hall. Each has its own job, and together they cover everything from an ordinary lesson to a formal concert.
2. Grading, performance and master series in combination
Zhonghong already makes grading, performance and master series instruments, and they can be combined around a department’s teaching progression, course structure and performance calendar, so that students at every year and on every pathway get an instrument that suits them.
3. Teacher development, masterclasses and academic exchange
We support teacher development for departmental staff and help arrange masterclasses and academic exchange, so that teaching method and professional outlook keep moving forward.
4. Co-built internship bases and a route into the profession
We co-build internship and training bases with departments, giving students a realistic working environment, and we open a route from study into employment that connects what is taught on campus with what the industry needs.
Why it works
- Institution-grade quality: instruments specified around the workload and acoustic standards of a professional department, meeting both teaching and performance needs.
- Genuine curriculum partnership: more than supply — participation in course building, teacher development and academic exchange.
- Shared development of people: internship bases and a route into the profession give professional training a solid material foundation.
